January 2024
This month we recognize students that are a shining example of dedication, service, and leadership. This talented group of students have not only showcased exceptional musical skills but have also gone above and beyond in supporting and uplifting their fellow musicians. Through their commitment to the program, willingness to assist others, and positive influence on the ensemble, they embody the true spirit of teamwork and camaraderie. Join us in celebrating these outstanding musicians whose passion for music is matched only by their outstanding character and leadership within our musical community.

During the TMEA Region 23 Orchestra Clinic and Concert weekend, Haskett Junior High Varsity Orchestra students volunteered their time to help with stage set up and break down for over 200 students from the Katy ISD, Houston ISD, and Alief ISD school districts. These students put in long hours both during and after school on Friday, December 8th, and Saturday, December 9th, at Stockdick Junior High and Paetow High School. Due to their efforts the event went smoothly and was a great success. They represented the Haskett campus well with their enthusiasm and initiative. Several district teachers complimented both their work ethic and their exemplary behavior. Thank you, students!
Outstanding Performers
A Haskett Orchestra tradition, select First Year Orchestra students are invited to perform with the Varsity Orchestra during the Winter Concert on December 14th, 2023. These students went above and beyond their first semester by always being prepared on performance assignments, being outstanding orchestra students both inside and outside of class. Due to their efforts, they were given the opportunity to learn even more and took on the challenge with excitement. They performed beautifully.
